Installation Instructions

Android

First, please make sure your phone meets the requirements

Next, you will have to "allow unknown sources".

We are not distributing this application through the Android Market (Play Store) as we want to control distribution. In order to install the application on your phone, you will have to explicity allow 3rd party or applications from unknown sources to be installed.

On recent versions of Android this is done through the "Unknown sources" checkbox under the "Device Administration" portion of the "Security" section in the "Settings". You can access it by browsing you applications and opening up the "Settings" application. Within the application, click on "Security" and then scroll down to the "Device Administration" section. Select the checkbox thatis labelled "Unknown sources".

On slightly older versions of Android, this is located in the "Applications" section in "Settings". Follow the same instructions as above but within the "Settings" select "Applications" and select the "Unknown sources" checkbox there.

Next, download and Install the following file on your Android phone by opening this URL on your phone:http://www.whitmanlocalreport.net/2012/LocalReport2012.apk or http://tinyurl.com/localreport2012

If you have trouble, there are a plethora of resources online with instructions on how to install 3rd party applications such as: CNET: How to enable third-party app installation on most Android phones

After you have downloaded and installed the app, please test it out and read through the performance instructions.

iPhone

First, please make sure your phone meets the requirements

Next you will need to find your iPhone's Unique Identifier (UDID)

Every iPhone has a Unique Device Identifier (UDID). It is a sequence of 40 numbers and letters that is unique to your phone. It should look something like this 4092ad4f5a3ce1209008aefdf3440dff77f61242.

As we are not distributing this application through iTunes in order for us to get the application on your device we need to create a "provisioning profile" that includes your device before you attempt to install it.

To obtain your UDID, you can install and run Ad Hoc Helper from iTunes (it's free). You can then forward the automated email (created by the app) to Kimberly Drew kimd@creativetime.org.

Alternatively, you can copy your UDID from iTunes by launching iTunes and connecting your phone. iTunes should show your phone's name, software version and so on as long as you have your phone selected. TO reveal the UDID, click on the Serial Number. You can copy this number by selecting Edit and Copy from the menu bar at the top of your screen. You can then paste the number into an email to Kimberly Drew kimd@creativetime.org.

If you have any problems, try following these instructions: What's my UDID or Finding Your iPhone's Unique Identifier (UDID) or Find UDID with a single click

We'll send you an email with a link to it when it is ready for you to download.

After you have downloaded and installed the app, please test it out and read through the performance instructions.
